Celebrate Life
Life is full of celebrations, and I intend to capture every single time that I celebrate!
I think my overarching goal in making life feel better really just boils down to joy. Finding joy in little moments – like having a cozy afternoon with a book and a cuppa – and also taking the time to be mindful of the bigger moments as they are happening.
This section is going to be all about those bigger events and celebrations. Whether its going to a friend’s party, or taking the time to celebrate a big anniversary, you’re going to find it here. I’m not a social butterfly by nature but I have come to realise that sometimes the memories are worth the social hangover, so I am going to try to say YES to more things and make an effort to come up with fun plans with the people I care about. Maybe it will be like a muscle; the more I get out there and make myself be sociable, the higher my tolerance for being around lots of people will be!
Before I started my journey to make life feel better, I was deep in the pits of agoraphobia. I don’t really know when it started, and I don’t think it has completely ended, but I know that I was doing much better after therapy for it in 2018/2019 and then lockdown allowed me to regress as far back as I wanted to.
I am making a commitment to trying my hardest to get out there, make plans, and celebrate every single time that the opportunity presents itself. It doesn’t have to be a party every time, but putting myself out there is an important step in keeping my brain happy.
Plus, with parties there is always cake! And it’s always a good time for cake.
