Cozy Living

Life feels better when its cozy.

Back in September 2023 I started a challenge with my bestie called 75 Gentle (and the rules are still in my pinned video on TikTok if you want to give it a bash!) and one of the things I really wanted to focus on as part of that challenge was making time for myself. Whether that was mindfulness, meditation, acts of self care or just making the effort to read, it all counted. I even made one rule ‘romanticize your life’, because I wanted to really practice mindfulness and notice the joy in tiny things.

Now, cozy living has become a bit of an ethos for me. When I know that I have a lot of demands on my to-do list, I schedule time to be cozy – I feel an overwhelming urge to just let my brain do nothing for a while. I really think it is essential for my mental health and my general ability to self regulate. It looks different from day to day. Sometimes just sitting quietly with my wax burner on is enough for me, while others I will pop on a face mask and play a game on my Switch.
